Dress Code


In keeping with the educational goals of this school, students are expected to dress and groom themselves with a sense of
responsibility. The dress code eliminates obvious or perceived disruptive distractions. Dress code violation will result in
changing clothes and 1st) a warning, 2nd) ISS during RA, 3rd) ASD, and 4th) Saturday School. A call home will be made each
time and may result in having clothes brought for the change. Each student will show a high degree of respect for the standards
of decency, cleanliness, and style accepted by the school and community.
1. Hats, caps, and other head coverings, and sun glasses will not be worn in the school building. (Exception : paying to wear
hats/caps on Hat Day)
2. Wallet chains, dog chains, and necklaces with sharp points and other wearing apparel that could be used as weapons are
prohibited.
3. Clothing and accessories decorated with slogans that promote or are suggestive of drugs. Sex, bodily functions, profanity,
tobacco, alcohol, gang activities, violence, and radical material including organization or groups, including singers or
bands, which promote these disturbing influences.
4. Shorts/skirts for grades 6-8 must be mid-thigh or longer. Form fitting clothing such as Spandex or biking shorts are not
acceptable as an outer garment.
5. Shoes are to be worn at all times.
6. All pants will be worn at waistline or hips. Belts shall be fastened. If the student has no belt, the school will provide
material to hold up the pants. If suspenders and/or gallowses are worn, they shall be fastened over the shoulders to
attached clothing. Pants should not sag, bag, drag, or expose undergarments.
7. See-through clothing, tank tops, spaghetti straps, or clothes that reveal the midriff, back., chest, or shoulders, are not
acceptable
8. Clothing with holes above the knee is not acceptable.
9. Body Piercing shall be limited to pierced ears only.
10. No “Heelies” are to be worn to school. The wheels will be removed and kept in the office until a parent/guardian picks
them up. Second offense the wheels will be kept until the end of the school year.
