Tardiness

Being on time to school and class is essential for optimum teaching, learning, and earning promotion to the next grade. School
bus transportation is provided free of charge to students in Warren County. For this reason, tardiness related to car problems,
traffic, oversleeping, etc. are not valid reasons for tardiness. To receive an excused tardy when late for school the student must
have a doctor’s statement, an official court notice, or a parent with student or a telephone call from the parent and approval by
administration. (Personal illness will be excused.) In grades 4-8 the fourth tardy to school or class will result in the student
being sent to Saturday School.
Students arriving at school after 7:50 bell are tardy. Those students must report to the office before being admitted to
class. Habitual tardiness is unacceptable and may require referral to the school attendance committee, a parent conference,
remediation strategies, or possible disciplinary action.
